The Wellness Courtyard

Designed as a sanctuary for both mind and body, this wellness courtyard reflects a growing desire for homes to support not only how we live, but how we feel.

Every element has been intentionally considered to encourage restoration and connection. Black and white encaustic tiles establish a strong architectural foundation, their geometric pattern bringing rhythm and character to the space, while the timber-panelled ceiling introduces warmth and a sense of enclosure.

At the heart of the courtyard sits a sculptural black steam sauna, a place to pause, reset and embrace the rituals of wellness. More than a striking design feature, it serves as a daily invitation to slow down and prioritise personal wellbeing.

Surrounding the space, layers of ferns and lush greenery soften the contemporary palette and foster a connection to nature, transforming the courtyard into a peaceful retreat hidden within the home.

A dedicated yoga and movement area provides space for mindfulness and reflection, while an integrated exercise bike allows for moments of activity within an environment designed to feel restorative rather than utilitarian. Together, these elements create a flexible setting that supports the changing needs and rhythms of everyday life.

This project is a reflection of an evolving understanding of luxury, that true luxury lies not in excess, but in creating spaces that help us feel our best.

The result is a courtyard that feels timeless and deeply nurturing: a place to breathe, move and simply be.
